Returning to School During the Time of COVID-19

Our Mission: We are a community of learners who love God and serve others.

It is the belief of C.F. Richards Christian School  (CFR) that students need to be in school to best meet their academic, social, and emotional needs. Deciding to place your child in school is understandably a difficult choice because of the risks of COVID-19 infection for families and staff.

Due to our small class sizes (15 or less in a room) we are able to social distance without having to juggle days and students. By following the latest recommendations from the CDC and the Virginia Department of Education we are working to create the safest environment possible for our children and staff.

Our school administration has developed a detailed flexible school plan to deal with the different scenarios that may face us at the beginning of the school year.  CFR will be offering a blended approach to learning with students attending school 4 days per week and learning remotely on Fridays (contingent upon Virginia staying in Phase 3). Families may also to have their child learn remotely full time if desired.

Two Awesome CFR Students

If school needs to close again in the fall, the CFR staff is prepared to provide quality distance learning to the students in grades K-8.

For detailed information, see the CFR Reopening Plan.

C.F. Richards Christian School has limited space available for its Pre-Kindergarten (4 years) program and in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade.  If you are interested in arranging a tour, please contact our principal, Jennifer Hackley at jhackley@cfrichards.org or by phone 540-886-4984.
